Seven new Transformation Accelerating Grants have been selected under the SOR4D programme. TAGs support SOR4D teams and their practice partners in translating research-based solutions into implementation and scale.

Great ideas do not change lives on their own, they need partners, testing, uptake and the right pathways to scale. That is the purpose of Transformation Accelerating Grants (TAGs) in the SOR4D programme: they support teams in translating proven research results into implementation initiatives together with non-academic stakeholders such as policy makers, private sector actors or development practitioners.

The 1st TAG call, which was launched in October 2025, resulted in the funding of seven TAG projectsExternal Link Icon. The call was open exclusively to the 15 existing SOR4D projects. The SOR4D review panel was responsible for the evaluation of the 10 proposals submitted.

TAG projects have a duration of 12 months and a maximum budget of CHF 150'000. TAGs are designed as an innovation accelerator space: they build on what SOR4D projects have already generated (knowledge, tools, technologies) and help teams take the next step towards uptake and scaling, rather than funding new scientific discoveries.

A second TAG call will be launched later in 2026.
